The Orchard Foundation was established in 2021 by the board of the Orchard Care Group to ensure all of the people we support have access to the best possible opportunities to assist them to advance in their lives and overcome barriers they may face.
The foundation provides additional funding in excess of statutory funding and can be used for additional education and recreational activities.
All of individuals we support in the Orchard Care Group can apply to the foundation and their application will be considered by a dedicated foundation board which is made up of staff members and representatives for those individuals we support.
Recent examples of support provided by the foundation include:
Funding towards extracurricular activities for a young person who has gained a scholarship to a prestigious secondary school. The funding allows the young person to fully participate in all sporting activities and attend team trips.
Funding towards maintaining a horse in a local stable for a young person who has gained great therapeutic benefit from riding. The young person hopes to pursue a career in equine management.
